Don’t know if this has been posted, but anyone else going to EAA Airventure this year? I'll be there tomorrow.

I’m pretending Oshkosh was canceled this year because everything in my life conspired to keep me from it

I used to go with my dad as part of the general aviation static displays, it was a blast. Today I can’t even imagine letting a 10-year-old wander around Oshkosh for hours at a time, no cell phone and no supervision. Basically “Here’s your flightline pass and $10. S tay away from moving props”
I never once got chopped up OR molested. At least I don’t think...

Its easy to forget how large the B1 is until you see it next to something also huge.

Burt and his company Scaled Composites have designed a boatload of strange yet very capable aircraft. The Proteus in the picture, Long EZ, Voyager (first unrefueled flight around the world), SpaceShip One, GlobalFlyer (first solo unrefueled flight around the world, and longest unrefueled flight in history ). He’s basically the Kelly Johnson of our time except none of his planes are particularly well known outside of aviation circles.
